Cambodia killing caves

Killing caves of Phnom Sampeau, Cambodia – 2018. The killing caves of Phnom Sampeau are a Khmer Rouge execution site southwest of Battambang. Many of the temple buildings here were used as prisons and interrogation centres, and the caves were used as execution sites. The Khmer Rouge executed their victims at the top of the caves and threw the dead bodies into the cave below. It is believed that as many as ten thousand people were thrown to their deaths here. Today there are two memorials which include the skulls and bones of some of the victims.
